he inherited his father's strong, warrior build, and his mother's soft, dark tabby fur. White patches mark his front paws, chest, and muzzle, and his deep green eyes always appear friendly. His rear left paw is half missing, with the other half crushed, while the tip of his tail is permanently bent.

He always tries to be the example. He'll push himself to make the honorable decision, volunteer for patrols, and put others before himself. These things take a toll, stressing him to the point of snapping, and even causing him to forget to take care of himself.

Born Spiderkit for his long legs, he showed promise at becoming an excellent warrior. He was always the lead troublemaker as a lot and, as an apprentice, found himself the ringleader of his denmates. They would often creep out of camp at night to play-fight in the forest. At ten moons, however, one of these excursions led to an accident. While playing near a ledge, another apprentice dislodged a large stone at the peak. The stone fell and crushed Spiderpaw's rear leg. When the medicine cat confirmed his paw would be lame, his father lost all hope for him and demanded the leader change his name to Halfpaw, for he only had half of a paw left. Halfpaw took this as a call to train instead of play, and pushed himself to make his father proud. He was soon named Halfleap, for he continued to become an excellent warrior despite the lame paw.
