BADGERMOON
67m | male | stormclan | leader | bisexual
medium-sized black and white tom with green eyes
If one were to describe Badgermoon in one word, it would be tenacious. He was born a weak kit, to the point where those around him believed he would not survive. But his spirit was too bright to fizzle out just yet and the little kit fought hard, earning him the name Badger. He has strong morals, with a respect for life unmatched by another. His heart is pure but unclouded and Badgermoon makes decisions based on what may be best for those he cares about. That being said, he isn't the type of cat to leave another stranded with an injury, no matter what clan they come from. Badgermoon is far from soft-spoken and harbours no fear in voicing his opinions. He's a jolly old cat with a fighting spirit and the type of personality that brings light into the darkest of places.
Born a frail kit with the curtain of death ready to close at any moment, Badgermoon fought against the fate determined for him. His will to live and refusal to give in gave way to results, and he received the name Badger to show his strength. He grew up a generally normal life after that, becoming an apprentice and training with his brother, Lynxpaw. Their lives were normal until they became warriors, and Lynxswipe vanished into the night.
They searched for days but with no luck, and eventually Badgerstripe was forced to abandon it. Several moons passed before Badgerstripe heard of his brother again, learning he had been captured by Nightclan-- a lie that was spread by none other than Lynxswipe himself.
His brother had joined with the other clan, igniting something within Badgerstripe that drove him to what he is today. He has trained hard to get to this point in his life and although his brother's betrayal has stoked fire in his heart, he will never act upon those feelings.

Watching Fishpaw bound away into the underbrush tugged a sigh from Badgermoon. He understood the fear of water well,
for he too had harboured those feelings when starting out. Not all of their members were thrilled about the cold pull at their underbelly and although many of them understood that, teaching apprentices was still a tough challenge.
Wading out from the stream, Badgermoon headed off in the direction Fishpaw had fled. Leaves and crushed twigs -- he wasn't very good at covering his tracks that was for sure -- led the way. After a few moments of silent walking, Badgermoon eventually came upon the young tom. He sat near him for a bit, not saying a word, and simply listened to the sounds of the forest around them.
"You know Fishpaw, I used to be just like you. Afraid of the water I mean. I grew up so weak that even a tiny stream might whisk me away!" Badgermoon glanced at him but Fishpaw said nothing in response; he took this as a sign to continue. "You may think you know everything, Fishpaw, but there are things even I don't know. Even our Keeper has things they are in the dark about!"
"Really?" Fishpaw finally turned to look at him.
"Yes. You can't expect to grasp everything in one go. All great cats started just where you are today, learning from warrior and leader alike, fighting to do what is best for their clan. You're a smart cat, Fishpaw; you'll get it eventually."
The apprentice seemed to consider his words for a moment; it appeared he'd said the correct thing.
"You don't need to learn to swim today, but it is an essential skill for Stormclan cats. When you're ready, we'll try again. Okay?"
Fishpaw offered a small nod and Badgermoon let out an internal sigh of relief.
