LEADER
As a leader of a Clan, there are many responsibilities and expectations. Applying for leader, or going from deputy to leader should not be considered lightly. Please read through what is required of this special position carefully before beginning your application:
1. Members with leader positions are expected to be on their account for their leader at least once a week, preferably twice.
2. Leaders have the responsibility of holding ceremonies for their Clan and organizing Clan meetings. These include naming ceremonies, mentor and apprentice ceremonies, and gathering announcements.
[/b] are when a kit becomes an apprentice or an apprentice is becomes a warrior. As the leader, you oversee this personally. It is up to you to PM or have an in character thread with the mentor and/or apprentice prior to the ceremony to determine if training has gone correctly and for the right amount of time. Leaders are responsible for naming apprentices, unless there is a special request from the mentor or apprentice characters.[/ul]1. 2. Leaders have the responsibility of holding ceremonies for their Clan and organizing Clan meetings. These include naming ceremonies, mentor and apprentice ceremonies, and gathering announcements.
3. Leaders are responsible for punishments (not limited to re-naming ceremonies*, demotions, and banishment. Working with their deputies, they also are allowed to plan an attack on another Clan, and oversee the treatment of Clan prisoners. Tough calls are a must for this position.
4. It is also the job of the leader to appoint a deputy if the previous is deceased or unable to perform their duties any longer. Leaders have one week real time to decide on their next deputy if they are choosing from existing cats or however long auditions last if they are held, although in-character it will be seen as before moonhigh unless a plot exemption is made. When choosing a new second-in-command from existing cats without auditions be sure to PM possible fills before making your announcement to ensure they accept their new job. Announcements should be officiated in character, via a thread in the designated Clan meeting place.
5. As an extra note, female leaders ARE allowed to take a mate and have kits of their own. This allows a clan to see their deputy in action as a future leader too, after all. If a she-cat becomes pregnant, she should make sure to lessen any amount of stress and are advised to hand more duties to their deputy as the pregnancy furthers. Once she is moved to the nursery, the deputy takes over her duties and is encouraged to select a senior warrior to assist in helping everything in the Clan run smoothly. Nursery-bound leaders are still consulted with daily, or, at least, as much as they would like to. Once the she-leader is able to leave the nursery, she may return to her normal duties as leader.[/div][/font]
DEPUTY
While an acting deputy of a Clan does not have quite as much work like their leader, there are still specific expectations to be met. Please read carefully before applying for a deputy position:
1. Like with the leaders, deputies are also expected to participate on forum once or twice a week to show their activity.
2. Deputies do a lot of interacting with the entire Clan, and it is important for them to spend time with their clanmates. The moderators will PM deputies a random event that they will need to check out for the safety of their clan (ex. trespassed borders, a badger or fox on the territory) and are required to organize a patrol. A patrol should have the deputy and two other cats, and one of them must be another warrior. These events are random, and can happen once a month or every other month. They are designed to be coordinated within RP, which means for regular warriors: if you trespass on another clan's border, a patrol event WILL be sent to a deputy! This is to keep things realistic.
3. While leaders directly oversee naming ceremonies themselves, it is the job of the deputy to ensure that apprentices are being trained for the right amount of time. We have a rule that apprentices must be in three threads of considerable length (not necessarily completed) and at least one must be a one-on-one with their mentor. Deputies are encouraged to report when apprentices are ready, or if they are not (either IC or through PM).
4. In the event a leader goes inactive, or is disabled due to a plot reason, it is the duty of the deputy to take up the leader responsibilities and may choose to keep their own for themselves or find another willing warrior to help them.
5. Much like the situation of a female leader, female deputies are also allowed to take a mate and have kits. Their situation is handled almost identically with the leader either taking up their duties or requesting the help of a senior warrior to take up some of the slack.

MEDICINE CAT & APPRENTICE
Medicine cats play a very crucial role within a Clan. They arrange a lot of the behind-the-scenes assistance for their Clan, and are the closest direct link to their warrior ancestors, Moonclan. Please read the following expected duties before applying:
1. Like leaders and deputies, medicine cats are also required to be active on their accounts once or twice a week.
2. Every half-moon (once a month), medicine cats and their apprentices from each Clan travel together to share tongues and commune with Moonclan in peace. These are much like Gatherings, and are required attendance for medicine cats and their apprentices. At the end of the half-moon Moonclan will message your medicine cat a dream. It may be important or it may be harmless- it is up to you to decide whether your medicine cat or medicine cat apprentice informs someone of what they saw!
3. Medicine cats are fully responsible for their apprentices with very little intervening of the Clan leader. They decide when their apprentice is ready to receive their full name and are allowed to give them the full rank of medicine cat if their apprentice agrees. Medicine cats can discuss the full name with their apprentice, and can decide it themselves if the apprentice has no preference, though it is usually granted to the apprentice by Moonclan.
4. Medicine cat apprentices travel with their mentors to Star Falls for the apprentice to receive their names from Moonclan. The apprentices will receive their name in an in-character dream while sharing tongues with their ancestors. The dream can be organized by the medicine cat apprentice user themselves, as the dream will be personal. Users are welcome to discuss name possibilities and dreams with their mentors.
5. Medicine cats dedicate their whole life to their Clan, consequently they are not allowed to bear offspring of their own nor take mates. If your medicine cat does this, they are able to be removed from their position. Depending on the situation, the medicine cat may choose a new apprentice from existing members or hold auditions, or in the event of the medicine cat removal, the medicine cat apprentice takes their place. The medicine cat apprentice's training will either be finished by the aid of another Clan's medicine cat or by Moonclan.
7. Medicine cats and medicine cat apprentices may receive random dreams from Moonclan even if they are not at Star Falls. This is done through PM through the Moonclan account.

- a medicine cat apprentice receiving their full name does not necessarily mean they replace their mentor. Medicine cat apprentices receive their "warrior name" when it is believed they have learned all that they can from their mentor and have grown into their position.[/ul]
THE KEEPER
The Keepers are a new rank for the clans. They are the Keepers of the Past. They have all the history of their clans inscribed in the walls of their den. This is a very special rank in which very few are able to achieve. Please read carefully before applying for a Keeper position:
1. Like with the other ranks, Keepers are also expected to participate on forum once or twice a week to show their activity.
2. Keepers are basically a 24/7 help clinic for the clans. Leaders, Warriors, and even Medicine Cats come to Keepers looking for advice. Keepers are to look at the history of their clan or the other clans and decide what they think the best step to take would be.
3. Only Moonclan can choose the successor of a Keeper. The current Keeper will receive a message, whether through PM or IC, as to which cat they think will be the next Keeper. They would then train this cat from the rest of their life.
4. If the Keeper goes inactive, then the chosen cat would step up and become the next Keeper. If no one was chosen before they became inactive, then auditions will be held to find the next Keeper.
5. Much like the situation of a medicine cat, Keepers are not allowed to have a mate or kits. If your Keeper does this, they are able to be removed from their position. Depending on the situation, the Keeper may choose a new Keeper from existing members or hold auditions, or in the event of the Keeper's removal, the Keeper's apprentice takes their place. The Keeper apprentice's training will either be finished by the aid of another Clan's Keeper or by Moonclan.

-----All High Ranks are required to interact IC with characters and OOC with members so that they feel comfortable knowing and RPing with you! During each activity check you must be able to provide an example of one in-character post from the past month that is non-business in nature. You may only reuse a thread twice in a row, provided there is a new post. You may reuse a thread every other activity check with no consequence.
